Holy Crap, This is Harder Than I Thought

I decided to dedicate my weekend to recording the audiobook for Whalers. I’d like to make sure that, on release day, there are many different ways one can access the book. I’ll release an e-book, a paperback, and an audiobook. It’s time to record.

I spent a few hours yesterday recording. I sound proofed my room, set my microphone up, and opened GarageBand. Little did I know, recording an audiobook is a hell of a lot harder than I imagined.

I’d like to think I’m a pretty good reader. I read out loud at my job all the time. I can read quickly, accurately, but when there’s a microphone recording your voice, it is incredibly difficult not to trip over a word or two. Then, I have to rewind, re-record, re-master.

At this time, I’ve got two chapters done. This is going to take my forever.
