How Can YOU Support Me and My Novel? Here’s a Guide:

I am a very fortunate person. I have been blessed with a large loving family, loyal friends, and supportive colleagues. The support in regards to the release of my novel has been nothing short of overwhelming, and it truly is a dream come true to be able to write a blog post like this today.

With just ten days left until the launch of Whalers, I’ve been blown away by the number of messages and DMs asking how to support me.

I keep hearing: “Hey Kyle, is there a preorder? Do you have a link to share? How can I help?”

I know many people have not been involved in a book launch before, so I decided today to put together this blog to give a step-by-step guide as to how to support me as best as humanly possible, and if you would be willing to follow it, together we can get Whalers into the hands of as many readers as possible.

Here’s a guide as to how you can help me:

1) Buy the Novel On Launch Day (Or Shortly After)

Tuesday, February 18th is Whalers’ official launch day. The best way to help is to buy your copy that day (or as soon as you can). I’ll be posting the Amazon link everywhere—grab the ebook, paperback, or BOTH (each counts as a separate sale!). Amazon ranks books based on sales spikes. The more copies sold in a single day, the higher Whalers climbs the charts! If you can’t buy it on launch day, grabbing it anytime that week still helps keep the momentum going.

2) Review The Novel on Amazon and Goodreads

Did you know that only 1% of people leave a review after purchasing and reading a book? But as a self-published author, I don’t have a giant like Penguin House to market my novel to people. The best way I can attract readers is reviews and Amazon prioritizes books with 10+ reviews early on. I would very much appreciate an honest take on the novel. Even a one-sentence review helps! Just a quick: “Loved the writing style and characters. A great read!” Boom. Done. It makes a huge impact.

3) Share on Social Media, with Bloggers, and with Friends

Again, as a self-published author, word out mouth is my best marketing tool. Do you have friends who are readers? Do you have a large social media following? Are you able to send messages to bloggers and influencers? I need your help. The more shares, likes, posts, and messages regarding the novel that I can get, the more eyeballs will be sent to this site or to my Amazon page. Take a picture of you with your copy and post to social media! Tell your friends! I’d love you forever.

4) Attend Book Launch Party on Friday the 21st

If you live in the area in and around New Bedford, we will be having a celebration and book signing at Pub 6T5 on Friday, February 21st. We will have raffle prizes for purchasers, pizza for all who attend, and I will happily sign a copy of Whalers if you bring one after purchasing. Stay tuned for a Facebook Event and further details posted to all my socials and this website in the coming days.

5) Subscribe to My Website

On the homepage of this website, as well on the Whalers tab, there is a place to subscribe to my website. My subscriber list is slowly growing, and it is through this list of people that I am able to disseminate information. By joining my subscribers list, you will receive early-access to Whalers, as well as any and all updates I post on this page. When my next book comes out, you will be the first to know.
