Everything to Know About Medusa: Two Weeks Until Release

By

With just two weeks (ah!) until the release of my second novel, Medusa; Or, Men Entombed in Winter, here’s everything that you could possibly need to know about it and how you can help me launch this novel on February 24th.

What is it about?

In short, Medusa is about a charismatic college student who draws a group of followers into a radical movement, culminating in the creation of an isolated, cult-like society in the Maine wilderness.

When will it be available?

Pre-order is currently live for ebook purchases, but the paperback will release officially on Amazon on Tuesday, February 24th, exactly two weeks from today. You can find the link to the novel’s Amazon page, here.

How are the reviews so far?

To be honest, this book is a rocket ship ready to launch. On Goodreads, there are currently 8 reviews from advanced readers. 7 of the reviews are 5 stars, and people have a lot of positive things to say:

“Medusa is comfortably one of the best books I’ve read this year, and among the top books I’ve read in my adult life.”

“This author is a star in the making! If this book got picked up by a publisher within the next year or two I would not be surprised at all.”

“If I could give this book more than five stars, I would. It is simply PHENOMENAL.”

I think this book by a self-published author may be one of my favorite books of the year.

On top of these eight reviews, there are also a number of editorial reviews I’ve sent out to websites, all of which have rated the novel 5 stars.

You can see all reader reviews on Goodreads by following this link. If you interested in editorial reviews, you can find them on this website, here.

How are you promoting it?

Marketing is hard. Let’s start there. But I’m working hard on my Instagram, on Threads, and on X, mostly. I’m accumulating followers, posting about my work, and gathering some attention from some major players.

On top of my social media, I also have four appearances lined up on release week that I would love for you all to watch or listen to:

Monday, 2/23 – Recording for The Dad Lit Podcast, a podcast that “explores literature written by, for, and about dads.”

Tuesday, 2/24 – I’m going LIVE on X with Jessica Barberi to talk about the release of the novel.

Wednesday, 2/25 – I’m LIVE on YouTube and X with Saffron Asteria on her podcast, BOOKED.

Thursday, 2/26 – I’m LIVE for an author interview with Josh and his show Already Overbooked.

How can YOU help?

I know how lucky I am to have the readers that I do, and I know that people want to help but aren’t really sure how to. For those people, here’s some ideas!

I’d turn my attention to this blog post from my release of Whalers, in which I’ll go into a hell of a lot more detail on how you can support me. But listed below are some of the best ways, quickly bulleted:

1) If you have a Goodreads account, add Medusa to your “Want to Read List”.

All this takes is a click of a button and helps immensely with the algorithm and getting it seen by other readers.

2) Purchase the Book on Launch Day – February 24th

Amazon ranks books based on sales spikes. The more copies sold in a single day, the higher the novel climbs the charts! If you can’t buy it on launch day, grabbing it anytime that week still helps keep the momentum going.

3) After reading, leave an honest review on Amazon or Goodreads.

I’ve been focusing much of my attention on Goodreads, but reviews on Amazon help, too!

4) Share, tell your friends, and share some more.

A book marketer once told me that people buy books that people that they trust are talking about. That is the approach that I am taking with Medusa. I don’t need Amazon ads or Facebook ads, but I need people to talk about this book. If you enjoy the reading experience, please share with your friends. Post on social media, tell your family, or brag about it at the water cooler. Any bit helps!

Medusa; Or, Men Entombed in Winter releases in just two weeks.

Love you guys.
